Just a little silicon has the potential to increase Li-ion battery capacity by six times, researchers from the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) find. They looked at the migration of lithium ions into silicon. It showed that thin silicon films would suffice to achieve the max load of lithium.
