BYD now world’s third-largest plug-in car maker.

With 161,000 PEV sales through September, BYD has now surpassed Mitsubishi to become the world’s third-largest plug-in car maker and could also very likely have passed Tesla’s cumulative total (164,000) in October, HybridCars reports. Renault-Nissan is still the undisputed PEV leader with 369,000 sales.
