BYD has completed their so far largest order from Brazil. The Brazilian city of São José dos Campos is leasing 30 electric vehicles from the Chinese manufacturer, which will be used by police and government.

Oslo: Nobina orders electric bendy buses from BYD

BYD will deliver the largest fleet of electric articulated buses in Europe to Oslo. Two orders have been placed by Nobina for a total of 42 electric buses measuring a full 18 metres. The orders follows multiple electric bus deliveries to Norway.

BYD and Changan to jointly produce batteries

BYD entered a strategic cooperation agreement with Changan Automobile to jointly manufacture batteries for electric vehicles. Both companies will produce up to 10 GWh of batteries together and sell as well as recycle those through a wide reaching joint venture based in Chongqing.

BYD receives large orders from America

BYD of China have never received a larger electric bus order from the Americas. Santiago de Chile expects the delivery of 100 all-electric buses in November. The order is in cooperation with energy firm Enel and builds on a successful trial.

BYD to more than double battery production by 2020

BYD’s planned battery factory in Qinghai province is becoming much bigger than previously thought. Bloomberg reports BYD is planning to scale up to full capacity of 24 GWh already next year. Globally BYD aims to churn out 28 GWh this year before doubling their output to 60 GWh in 2020.

Electric double-decker buses coming to London

A whole pack of all-electric double-decker buses is coming to London. 68 of them are to arrive in summer 2019 and will electrify entire routes. They are being made by ADL, BYD and Optare and TfL says this will grow the fleet to 240 all-electric buses.
