Skoda EV progresses: The upcoming IAA will see a revamped concept of Skoda’s Vision E that debuted earlier this year in Shanghai. Clearly, Volkswagen’s Czech arm takes its electric ambitions seriously, also because its combustion engines are a far cry from meeting emission targets. New information reveals a power spectrum from 104 – 225 kW for the five electric models Skoda plans to launch through to 2025. This puts the range between 400 and 600 kilometres and both rear and four-wheel drive powertrains are on the table.

500 km range for Tesla Semi? The Californians are readying their electric truck for a first presentation next month and rumours on a range between 200 and 300 miles (up to 480 km) have emerged, when an insider told Reuters. This would put the Semi at the low end of long haul trucking and nowhere near the promised 1,000 miles a conventional truck can manage. However, it is prototype stage still.

Hyundai has launched its scrappage incentive in the UK, where it offers up to 5,000 pounds to those willing to buy a new car while handing in their old diesel. It won’t help electrification much though as the only available electrified model is the Ioniq Hybrid for which buyers receive a 2,000 GBP discount.
