With its electric manned drone, California company Passenger Drone wants to enter the aircraft market by 2019. As reported, the two-seater powered by 16 electric motors completed its first test flights in October.

Pricing for the VTOL aircraft could start at 150,000 dollars but as soon as the production volume reaches a few thousand units the price could fall below 100,000 dollars, according to the manufacturer. The model is slightly larger than a small car and shall reach up to 80 km/h. While the company will continue to test and further develop the aircraft during 2018, it hopes to get certified by 2019 and to kick off serial production shortly after.
