Risks of home charging

It almost turned into a domestic, when a bin man found fault with an EV that was charging in a driveway. The house owner had used an extension cable to juice up his BMW i3.

Alas the cable reel hub was exposed to pouring rain, prompting the bin man to call attempted murder. Well, he posted a picture. BMW reacted explaining that not the rain is the problem but charging your electric car via an extension cable does pose a risk.
