Harley Davidson to partner up with Alta Motors

The US American motorcycle brand has invested an unknown sum into the electric motorcycle manufacturer formerly known as BRD Motorcycles. The smaller Alta Motors has significant experience with battery packs and powertrains that Harley Davidson can benefit from.

After recently announcing their first electric motorbike, Harley Davidson is doubling down on their investment by entering business with the small electric bike producer. Alta Motors is mostly known for their small electric off-road motorcycles, however they have expanded their repertoire over the years and now offer a small range of motorbikes.

Harley Davidson, on the other hand, is entering the EV game somewhat late, however they will greatly benefit from the experience of the smaller company, while the investment will enable Alta Motors to expand their production and range.

Harley-Davidson President and CEO Matt Levatich had this to say: “Earlier this year, as part of our 10-year strategy, we reiterated our commitment to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders, in part, by aggressively investing in electric vehicle technology. Alta has demonstrated innovation and expertise in EV and their objectives align closely with ours. We each have strengths and capabilities that will be mutually beneficial as we work together to develop cutting-edge electric motorcycles.”
