FIA’s final fine print

The new Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne and his team colleague Andre Lotterer received an unusual fine at the season finale in New York. Both drivers were fined €5,000 for wearing what FIA considers “noncompliant underwear” during the qualifiers.

At the bottom of the scandal however, is not a sponsorship issue or a question of indecency, but a question of health and safety.
