What goes up, must come down (video)

Renault recently launched an unusual advertising campaign in the Romanian capital of Bucharest for its Zoe, in which the selling price of the EV is linked to the air pollution in the city. If air pollution rises, the price for the Zoe decreases.

As Renault’s video shows, mobility problems in Bucharest involve both dangerous pollution levels and massive traffic congestion. While electric cars most definately improve air quality, traffic congestion is not helped in the slightest by simply changing engine types.

What the “DisCO2unt Billboard” advertising campaign so cleverly engineered by the advertising agency Publicis Romania will hopefully achieve, however, is to raise awareness of air pollution levels and sell the Zoe, while raising awareness of the benefits of electric mobility.
