Electric dragster breaks records
Racing legend Don “Big Daddy” Garlits has counted more than 87 outings, but that has proved no reason for him to slow down. He recently beat his previously held record on a quarter mile drag race with his new electric dragster: 189 mp/h.
Garlits’ previous track successes included setting up the records for 170 mp/h, 180 mp/h, 200 mp/h, 240 mp/h, 250 mp/h and 270 mp/h on a quarter mile track. Now he has made it his goal to break 200 mp/h with an electric vehicle and the organizers have high hopes they will succeed in the next test.
