BMW sends the Mini Cooper to the Nürburgring
BMW is sending their classic Mini to the race track, which may raise some eyebrows, but the German company has a rather unique record in mind: Instead of lap records, this race is an efficiency test: thanks to two-stage recuperation, the electric Mini can circle the Nordschleife without the need for a brake pedal.
Electric dragster breaks records
Racing legend Don “Big Daddy” Garlits has counted more than 87 outings, but that has proved no reason for him to slow down. He recently beat his previously held record on a quarter mile drag race with his new electric dragster: 189 mp/h.
Hyundai proves that record breaking performance may not always be a reason to brag. The carmaker says its Tucson Fuel Cell broke the speed record in the category of serial produced FCVs hitting a grand total of 152.2 kph (or 94.6 mph). Wow…
