Italian students design electric off-road concept

The Istituto Europeo di Design has presented an all-electric concept vehicle called Tracy, designed by students of the Master’s degree course in Transport Design in Torino. Based on the plans of the Italian students, it was built under the roof of EDAG Italia.

Tracy is the result of a design process in which the budding academics looked at the future of transport free from any market constraints, the private design school stated in an accompanying press release. Its off-road capability and six seats distinguish the electric vehicle. It combines the concepts of micro-mobility and individual, public and shared mobility, according to the project initiators. Concerning the off-road qualities of the study, they say that the aim is to promote – beyond the urban context – a new feeling of sharing and mobility that can be extended to unconventional scenarios.

For 17 years, the Istituto Europeo di Design has been present at the Geneva Motor Show with its design studies – always with the latest designs of the respective student year. As the fair was cancelled due to the Corona crisis, the design school is now presenting the latest study on its initiative.
