VW ID.4 finishes endurance race in Mexico

Volkswagen has taken the VW ID.4 through its paces as the company entered a heavily modified version into the Mexican 1000 race. The race pitted contestants against each other across the Baja Peninsula, with around 70% making it to the finish line at all.

Volkswagen’s electric racer managed to complete the 840-mile journey (1351.85 km) through the Baja Peninsula, which saw 64 of the 90 entrants at the finish line.

“This was an exciting test of ID.4 technology because no other production-based EV had ever entered this event, let alone completed it,” said Scott Keogh, CEO of Volkswagen of America,
