Drone flying high to spy on Tesla disrupts air traffic over Berlin

Aerial views of Tesla factories have almost become a common sight since fans continue to send drones for a flyover. This time, however, there has been a serious incident that could have easily led to a major accident in Germany.

German police report a drone flying at the height of 1,000 metres that could have downed a full-size aeroplane. Tesla Giga Berlin lies near the capital’s “new” BER airport – usually a strictly no-fly zone. Exemptions can be granted for drones flying no higher than 50 metres.

With the Tesla spy flying way too high, the passenger aircraft had to avoid the drone on Saturday morning by altering its course for landing. A police investigation is now underway for dangerous interference with air traffic – against an unknown suspect.
