Furniture Village opts for Peugeot e-2008 to electrify fleet

Peugeot UK has announced supplying 25 e-2008s to Furniture Village, a British furniture retailer, adopting a fully electric fleet. Field and store managers will use the EVs as they travel between Furniture Village’s UK locations and visit customer homes.

The Peugeot e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery connected to a 136hp electric motor and has a WLTP range of 214 miles (344 km). The e-2008 achieves a 2% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rate in the UK, making it ideal for fleets and business users, so Peugeot.

Furniture Village is currently installing EV charge points at all stores and fulfilment centres across the UK. The Peugeot e-2008 offers a range of charging options, including 100kW rapid charging capability, allowing a 0-80% charge to be completed in half an hour.

Julie David, Managing Director, Peugeot UK, said: “We’re thrilled that Furniture Village has chosen the e-2008 as the car with which to move to a fully electric fleet.”

Charlie Harrison, Commercial Director, Furniture Village, called the electric vehicle the “ideal car for us as we make the important decision to adopt a fully electric fleet.” He pointed to the range of the Peugeot EV being “well-suited” to the needs of employees. The company has 54 stores and 12 fulfilment centres in the UK and also makes customer visits.

Looking at the range of 214 miles stated above, the cars for Furniture Village are the most recent model year. Peugeot had announced range upgrades of 22 kilometres via software updates in winter, then resulting in said 342 kilometres for the e-2008. It should be even more in everyday life, as Peugeot owner Stellantis informed – up to 40 kilometres more should be possible in city traffic.

Furniture Village ordered all 25 models in Allure Premium trim. Peugeot UK had included the medium trim in a round of price reductions for the EVs to stay eligible for the Plug-in Car Grants as reported. Allure models start from £31,930.

The Peugeot e-2008 forms part of the company’s electrification strategy, which will see the brand provide electrified variants of each model in its range by 2024.
