Transdev Canada orders 30 Lion Electric school buses

Transdev Canada has announced the acquisition of 30 new electric school buses from Lion Electric. With this new order, the company will have electrified its fleet of electric buses to nearly 40% in Quebec.

The entire new fleet is scheduled to be put into service in the Montérégie and Eastern Townships in the spring of 2023. Transdev Canada already ordered 27 Lion Electric school buses which are now in service.

Lion Electric has expanded greatly in the last couple of years as electric bus orders have seen an exponential increase. The Canadian company has also branched into electric trucks, which have seen similarly high demand.

Transdev, a private, public transport provider operating internationally, has also been speeding up the transition of its fleets across the globe. The company claims it currently operates 1,800 electric buses in 13 different countries, which it says makes it the largest electric bus operator in the world after China.
