London Mayor announced black cab EV investment

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, has announced plans to invest an extra £24m to help more black cab drivers switch to electric vehicles. The plans will more than double the TfL’s existing £18m fund. Additionally, grants will be restructured to provide more payments at higher levels.

China: Xi’an launches 200 BYD electric double-decker fleet

The world’s largest fully electric double-decker bus fleet is currently being launched in the Chinese city of Xi’an. The fleet consists of 200 BYD K8S double-decker buses that will serve six city bus routes. More than 3,000 of the manufacturer’s electric buses are now in service in Xi’an.

Korea presents hydrogen economy plan

A new plan by the South Korean government to build a hydrogen economy includes a massive increase in the number of fuel cell vehicles produced in the country. While only around 2,000 such vehicles were built by 2018, the number is expected to rise to 100,000 by 2025.

Tallinna Linnatranspordi considers purchase of 700 e-buses

Tallinna Linnatranspordi (TLT), the municipal transport company of the Estonian capital Tallinn, plans to switch completely to electric mobility by 2035. Mercedes delivers first eCitaro buses to Mannheim and Heidelberg

California requires all new buses to be electric by 2029

California on Friday became the first state to mandate a full shift to electric buses on public transit routes. Starting in 2029, mass transit agencies in California will only be allowed to buy buses that are fully electric under a rule adopted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Scotland mobilises millions for e-mobility
