E-buses only in Copenhagen by 2025

The Danish capital Copenhagen and the enclave of Frederiksberg, which is completely surrounded by Copenhagen’s urban area, have decided to completely electrify the last five bus routes by 2025. Now, only the public transport operator has to play along.

Mellor scores another e-bus order from Sweden

British bus manufacturer Mellor has received an order from Sweden. Public transport operator Connect Bus orders 42 electric buses of the Sigma line, which Mellor debuted in 2021. The minibuses on order are headed for Gothenburg.

Daimler to deliver new e-buses for VAG Nuremberg

German public transport operator VAG Nuremberg has ordered 46 eCitaro from Mercedes-Benz. The 16 electric solo buses and 30 articulated models will gradually go into service this year, turning almost half of VAG’s fleet to zero-emission.

Oxford Bus Company orders 104 Wrightbus electric buses

The Oxford Bus Company, which is part of the Go-Ahead Group, has ordered 104 electric buses from Irish manufacturer Wrightbus. The order comprises five single and 99 all-electric double-decker buses. Eight double-decker will have an open top and can be used as sightseeing buses.

Barcelona bans scooters from public transport

CA: Sonoma County buys more Proterra electric buses

Sonoma County in California announced the purchase of ten battery-electric buses by Proterra to replace ten compressed natural gas buses. The new buses shall arrive in the summer of 2024 and join six other all-electric buses expected to arrive in June.

National Express to procure 300 electric buses for West Midlands

De Lijn secures up to 500 electric buses from Iveco

In the Belgian region of Flanders, Iveco Bus has signed a framework agreement with Flemish public transport company De Lijn for the delivery of up to 500 electric buses by 2030. The contract initially includes a firm order for 65 all-electric E-Way city buses in the articulated bus version.
