Volvo Buses presents electric city bus for Mexico
Volvo Buses has unveiled a new all-electric city bus for the Mexican market that will be manufactured locally. The new model is called Luminus and is available in different lengths from 9.7 to 13 metres and with battery capacities ranging from 280 to 470 kWh.

BYD-Castrosua presents first electric city bus
BYD has presented the first electric bus jointly developed with the Spanish chassis builder Castrosua. Both companies signed a manufacturing partnership last year. The first units of the electric bus will soon be in use in Spain.

Foothill Transit grows fuel-cell-electric bus fleet
Foothill Transit, a public transport agency serving the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys in Southern California, is furthering its sustainability efforts with the introduction of Axess EVO-FC buses to its fleet. Manufacturer ElDorado National (ENC) will produce the buses in Riverside, CA.

Bremen expands electric bus fleet with 35 eCitaro G
Bremen public transport operator Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) is procuring 50 more electric buses. Mercedes-Benz (EvoBus) has received an order from BSAG for 35 new fully electric articulated eCitaro G buses, while another 15 iebus18 models were ordered from Irizar.

New Flyer secures new H2 order from Nevada

EPA releases $400 mn in grants for the Clean School Bus scheme
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has freed $400 million in grants for financing “cleaner” school buses, primarily electric ones but also those running on gas. This is the first round of funding coming as grants but follows on from powerful programs.

Solaris secures record order from Germany
Solaris has announced a record order for hydrogen buses from the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: The transport company Rebus Regionalbus Rostock has ordered 52 fuel cell buses from the Polish manufacturer, including 47 vehicles with a length of twelve metres and five articulated buses.

Qbuzz and OV-bureau order 35 Mercedes eCitaro G
The Dutch public transport operators Qbuzz and OV-bureau Groningen Drenthe have placed an order with Daimler Buses for the construction of a total of 35 fully electric articulated Mercedes-Benz eCitaro G buses. According to the contract, deliveries are to be completed by 2026.

West Virginia orders 41 electric school buses from GreenPower
The state of West Virginia is acquiring 41 GreenPower custom-built, battery-electric school buses for $15 million. The models include Type D BEAST and Type A Nano BEAST school buses. As part of the order, GreenPower received a $3 million deposit from the state to manufacture the buses in West Virginia.

Washington DC starts 1st phase of e-bus orders
In the USA, Washington DC’s Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has just ordered five 40-foot electric buses from Nova Bus and five from New Flyer. The purchase is part of the WMATA plan to fully decarbonise its bus fleets by 2042.
