BYD delivers electric buses to Brazil & Hungary

Brazil’s largest city, that is Sao Paulo, has received its first electric buses from BYD. The 15 buses are part of a pilot project involving solar power, before they will take up full service in March 2019. Meanwhile, BYD has also become active in Hungary.

BYD completes first electric bus made in France

BYD has completed construction of their first batch of electric buses in their new factory in Allonne, France. The two completed electric buses will be handed over to the Transdev and operate in the community of Agglo du Beauvaisis.

You could call these electric buses a “streetcar of desire” given they look pretty, are articulated, 18 metres long and look like a tram. The four buses made by Irizar have arrived in Barcelona and will serve on route H16 starting this month.

Volvo completes electric bus order in Malmö

Electric transport is coming to Sweden as Volvo delivers 13 all-electric buses to the city of Malmö in the Skåne region. The buses will service the entire route 7 in Malmö from mid-December and are among the bigger investments in electric public transit in the country.

The city of Taipei has opened it’s first fully electrified bus line. On the 31.5 km stretch a total of 12 electric buses will begin ferrying passengers. The buses are fitted with motors from Danfoss Editron, but these 12 are just the beginning.

CARB approves $483 million budget for 2018-19

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has approved a 483 million dollar budget for the 2018 to 2019 fiscal period. The budget will be used to fund clean vehicle rebates, zero emission public transport and logistics and other mobility pilot projects.

Volvo to deliver 12 hybrid bendy buses to Poland

Volvo has received an order for 12 articulated hybrid buses to the Municipal Transport Company (MPK) in Cracow. In total, the Sweded have now sold more than 50 hybrid buses in Poland. The vehicles are produced in the Volvo’s factory in Wroclaw.
