The Electrified GV70 is also the first model assembled in the US. At the factory in Montgomery, Alabama, to be exact. The Electrified GV70 is said to hit the streets later this year. The electrified GV60 SUV and the Electrified G80 came to market in 2022 – both were assembled in South Korea.

Production of the Electrified GV70 was initially scheduled to start in early 2022 and was then pushed back to December of last year. The brand did not name any reasons why production kick-off is behind schedule.

The Electrified GV70 features two electric drives, each producing 160 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque on the front and rear axles. Genesis puts the system power at 360 kW in boost mode and the combined torque at 700 Nm.

The new EV is also available as a premium version named Electrified GV70 Advanced. It includes the entire suite of available safety and advanced driver assistance systems. It is, therefore, a little pricier, starting at 72,650 dollars.

The vehicle is also available in Europe, with prices starting at 64,405 pounds in the UK. That is about 77.000 dollars and, therefore, much more expensive than in the US. So there, sales tax will be added after the fact, while it is included in the UK price.

According to Genesis, from 2025, all newly launched models will be electric. The entire lineup will consist of EVs only by 2030.
