Leapmotor backtracks to include ICE vehicles

The Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor, which until now has specialised in purely electric cars, will in future also offer all its BEV models with a combustion engine as a range extender that charges the battery. Leapmotor’s change of strategy comes against the backdrop of falling sales.

Leapmotor calls the vehicle itself an “EREV”, an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, introducing a new variant of its flagship SUV, the C11 with prices starting at $23,570.
