Dacia will launch all-electric Spring in the UK

Dacia has confirmed that it will offer the fully electric Dacia Spring in the UK starting next year. And the carmaker is certain that the EV will be a success.

The UK will see an “all-new version, enhanced by several significant improvements in design and equipment.” However, Dacia doe not give any further details bout what these improvements will be.

According to data collected by Dacia, the Spring is predestined to be an EV, as it is often bought as a second car in the UK and “is the main means of transport during the week for 90% of multiple-vehicle households who own one.” At the same time, average daily commutes are less than 20 minutes are covered at 16 mph, which is around 26 kph.

“It will literally plug a gap in the UK electric car market for a highly usable, quality EV that won’t break the bank and which makes electric vehicle ownership more realistic than ever,” says Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK. “UK car buyers can look forward to an EV that’s perfectly aligned to their mobility requirements and, importantly, is done the Dacia way.”

“With UK sales surging year-on-year and many British car buyers having a recognised appetite for the brand, it is now the right time to introduce a pure electric vehicle, “Xavier Martinet, Dacia SVP Sales, Marketing and Operations adds. “I’m confident that Spring will be as popular in the UK as it has proved throughout the rest of Europe.”
