Marriott Hotels selects EV Connect as preferred charging provider

The US American hotel chain Marriott Hotels has selected EV Connect as a new charging operator to help set up charging infrastructure at their US and Canadian locations.

EV Connect has been selected as the preferred EV charging provider for Marriott Hotels across the USA and Canada. With the agreement, 6,000 qualifying Marriott locations can leverage the comprehensive set of EV Connect products and services to deploy, manage, and serve EV driver guests.

According to Marriott, the EV Connect charging platform simplifies charging station set-up, management, and optimization. This will allow Marriott properties to choose the charging hardware deployed on the open platform, and to scale EV charging needs for the needs of individual locations.

“As the world shifts towards sustainable energy and clean transportation, hotels and resorts that provide charging facilities for EVs can attract guests who prioritize sustainability and carbon-neutral travel. This collaboration between EV Connect and Marriott marks a major advancement of the EV market’s expansion, and it has significant implications for the hospitality sector as a whole,” said Ram Ambatipudi, Senior Vice President of Business Development at EV Connect.

In a similar move, the Hilton hotel chain recently placed an order with Tesla for 20,000 universal wall box charging stations, which are to be installed at 2,000 Hilton hotels in the US, Canada, and Mexico starting in early 2024.
