The new site at the popular recreation ground opened today, now boasting 16 ultra-rapid chargers, which Be.EV expects to charge up to 380 EVs daily.

Charge point operator Be.EV naturally names kayakers, swimmers, dog walkers, sailors and Trafford Water Sports Centre as clients. At the same time, the charging hub is located two minutes from the M60 motorway, which claims an average daily traffic of over 100,000 vehicles.

Finnish manufacturer Kempower delivered the equipment that is powerful enough to charge an electric car to 80% in 20 minutes. This depends on demand since the technology includes intelligent energy distribution between vehicles.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV called Sale Water Park “a beautiful site,” adding that the CPO was “proud to provide local residents and M60 commuters alike with reliable, ultra-rapid charging whilst enjoying the park’s scenery and attractions or simply passing through.”

Sale Water Park is the latest project in Be. EV’s broader collaboration with Trafford Council which was announced in June and has seen more than 41 chargers go live across the region.

In terms of income and costs for constructing the new charging stations, all will be funded by Be.EV with a contribution of the profits to Trafford Council once they are up and running.

Be.EV operates one of the largest public charging network across the North West and can be found on ZapMap.
