According to a company statement, both variants of the Blueberry family can be equipped with up to 900 kW total power in 50 kW increments. With the Blueberry Plus, two vehicles can be charged in parallel, sharing the power dynamically, while with the Blueberry Cluster, up to four EVs can share the total power of the charger. The maximum current per charging point is specified as 500 amps – which allows a maximum of 500 kW of power output if only one vehicle charges.

The Portuguese company describes the Blueberry Cluster with at least 800 kW as “a perfect solution for the German market as it can share the power between 4 outputs and still meet the 200 kW minimum requirement while allowing any output to reach any power up to 500 A output current.” i-charging is thus alluding to the requirements of the German grid. The Blueberry Plus, which has at least 400 kW, also fulfils the requirements. According to the manufacturer, both devices also have the necessary calibration law certifications (Module B and Module D), are Plug&Charge-capable and offer, among other things, direct payment by bank card.

“At i-charging, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of EV charging technology to provide our customers with the most advanced solutions,” says Pedro Moreira da Silva, CEO of i-charging. “By anticipating market needs and pushing the boundaries of innovation, we continue reinforcing our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that redefine the EV charging experience. The boost of the blueberry with 900 kW demonstrates our commitment to our mission to make EV charging faster, more convenient, and more accessible than ever before.”

The Porto-based company was founded in 2019 and launched its first range of fast-charging stations in autumn 2020, offering charging capacities from 50 to 600 kW. The most visually striking feature of the Blueberry charging stations, which are only available with direct current, is the 32-inch touchscreen. It controls the entire operation of the charging station and can generate additional revenue for the charge point operator through advertising.
