Aptera writes that the move is part of the alignment “with Aptera’s ambitious vision of producing one million solar electric vehicles by 2030 and establishing a strong international presence.”

As part of the initial offer, Aptera has invited investors who invested at least $27,000 USD to secure one of the 53 exclusive ‘Union Edition’ Aptera vehicle reservation slots.

“We are thrilled to announce Aptera’s expansion into the UAE, a key milestone in our journey towards delivering solar mobility everywhere possible,” said Steve Fambro, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Aptera Motors. “We see immense potential in the UAE for solar mobility to thrive and look forward to integrating into the market’s vast opportunities for sustainable transportation initiatives like Aptera.”

Furthermore, Aptera writes that as part of its launch in the UAE, Aptera will participate in DRIFTx, an “international thought leadership and exhibition platform for pioneering the latest innovations and applications in smart, autonomous, and sustainable urban mobility across air, land, and sea.” The DRIFTx conference will take place on April 25-26, 2024 at Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi.

In February, Aptera closed a funding round with enough to kick-start production, collecting over 33 million dollars to launch production in North America. The launch edition was presented at the beginning of 2023.
