Singapore: Charge+ adds 140 EV chargers to the network
According to Charge+, the acquired chargers are situated in 42 properties, including condominiums and commercial buildings such as Esplanade. Following the acquisition, Charge+ is now the ‘largest EV charging operator in Singapore’ with close to 2,500 charging points. Thus, the company is on track to meet the requirements of the EV Charging Act of Singapore, in place since 2023.
Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+, says: “We are excited about extending our charging service to more properties while, at the same time, sustaining the quality and performance standards required under the EV Charging Act.”
Lindy Lee, Director at Quickcharge, added: “Quickcharge had started a few years ago as a comprehensive EV charging solution provider. With our decision to be more focused on our charging solutions offering, we are pleased to partner with Charge+, which has acquired our existing public EV chargers and will continue to provide a reliable EV charging service to the existing properties. We look forward to more synergies with Charge+ in other aspects of the EV ecosystem.”
Charge+ is on an expansion course to extend its services to other Southeast Asian countries. It aims to operate 30,000 charging points by 2030. Following its launch in its native Singapore, the company also operates in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia. Last September, the charge point operator closed a multi-million-dollar funding round totalling $8 million (7.6 million euros). The funds raised will support Charge+’s ongoing expansion efforts of its EV charging infrastructure throughout Southeast Asia. The company has also partnered with Porsche to build a high-power charging network in Vietnam.
