The first images and information about the electric luxury car have been published on portals such as Car News China. The Maextro S800 is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2025 as a purely electric version and as a model with a range extender. The car will probably cost between 1 and 1.5 million yuan, the equivalent of 132,000 to 198,000 euros. The luxury brand was announced last summer when the Stelato S9 went on sale.

Maextro is a premium brand of the Aoije joint venture between Huawei and JAC – and the S800 is its debut model. As mentioned, the saloon is 5.48 metres long, 2 metres wide and 1.54 metres high. The wheelbase is 3.37 metres and the kerb weight of the BEV version is 2.73 tonnes (EREV: 2.86 tonnes).

The BEV version of the S800 will have three electric motors: one at the front with 160 kW and two at the rear with 237.5 kW each. A peak output of 635 kW is stated as the system output. As an EREV, the luxury saloon will be available with either two or three motors, excluding a fuel-powered 115 kW generator. The battery will come from CATL, with a capacity of 63 kWh in the EREV version. No specifications are yet available for the BEV version.

Maextro is Huawei’s fourth brand under the umbrella of HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance). The others are Stelato (with BAIC), Aito (with Series) and Luxeed (with Chery).
