Mober opens the Philippines’ largest electric truck charging hub
Mober has built Central Charge on an area of 3,000 m2 along D. Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City, about 10 km south of Manila in the National Capital Region. The company has installed 52 units of 7 kW AC chargers and four units of 60 kW DC fast chargers at this facility.
The new commercial EV charging hub in Pasay City can charge up to 200 electric trucks daily. Mober operates it in three shifts to give its delivery fleet uninterrupted charging support around the clock.
In 2023, Mober opened its first charging hub with 30 units on an 800 m2 site in Zamora Street, Pasay City. Now, with Central Charge, the company has sufficient in-house charging infrastructure to support its current fleet. However, the two existing hubs may not be enough to accommodate its planned fleet expansion.
Mober operated 110 electric trucks as of December last year and aims to grow its fleet to 240 units by the end of this month. By 2026, it plans to more than double that figure, surpassing 500 EVs.
Dennis Ng, the founder and CEO of Mober, said the company is scouting properties of 6,000-10,000 m2 for two additional EV charging hubs. Mober will call them Northern Volt in the north and Southern Spark in the south, he added. Ng likely referred to the northern and southern regions of Luzon, the island that includes Pasay City and Manila.
Mober is the Philippines’ first and leading EV logistics company. Operating in a strategic location near commercial hubs, it conducts zero-emission last-mile delivery operations for major corporations like IKEA, Nestlé, Maersk, Starbucks, Monde Nissin, and Kuehne+Nagel. In June last year, the company secured a major investment of six million dollars from the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility II (SEACEF II). It utilised this investment to build its second charging hub in Pasay City.
