MAN Charge&Go truck charging opens to public

A new truck charging service for MAN eTruck drivers is now available to the public at charging sites across Europe. Around 650 eTruck standard-ready locations are currently open, with this set to rise to 1000 by the end of 2025.

In essence, MAN Charge&Go makes it easier to find truck-compatible charging points and also enables easy payments using a dedicated charging card. It helps drivers find locations with the MAN eTruck ready standard, which ensures charging points comply with manoeuverability, height, and weight restrictions. This is via a digital map interface which shows truck charging points that comply either with the eTruck ready or eTruck limited standards (those with restrictions such as vehicle length).

Additionally, the charging card is accepted at more than 15,000 other charging locations across the continent. On arrival at a charging site, eTruck drivers must authenticate themselves at the charging station using the card, with payment handled in the background. Consolidated invoices for whole-fleet charging is then issued at the end of the month to give fleet managers overview of all charging points used.

The Charge&Go system is integrated into MAN’s in-vehicle display or via the MAN DriverApp. It also includes a service portal which provides customers transparency over charging costs and all charging cards currently in use.

#MAN hopes to expand its eTruck-ready network to around 1000 locations by the end of the year, and this includes building around 170 truck charging parks at MAN locations in collaboration with E.ON. In September 2024, the commercial vehicle manufacturer opened its first of these sites at a MAN service center in Berlin-Wildau.

Last month, MAN Truck & Bus announced it is increasing the use of eTrucks to transport its own goods and vehicles, having launched a tender process in April regarding the future use of battery-electric trucks on the first of 40 planned routes. In February, the company also revealed it has received around 2800 orders and enquiries for the eTruck from external customers.
