According to the agreement, Huy Long will deploy the 2,000 VinFast (VN) EVs across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and provinces in central Vietnam. The company has partnered with the Vingroup-backed Green SM to deploy and operationalise this fleet.

Green SM will provide technology platform support, operational management solutions, and assistance in optimising fleet efficiency. In addition, it will help implement programs to support drivers in replacing their ICE vehicles with EVs, although it has not disclosed the specific details of this collaboration. The company also confirmed it is partnering with close to 100 transportation companies and many bus operators across Vietnam to support their transition to EVs.

Huy Long plans to procure a variety of five VinFast EVs: VF 5 Plus, EC Van (VN), Minio Green, Herio Green, and Limo Green. The VF 5 Plus is a small SUV with a 100 kW/135 Nm motor and a 37.23 kWh battery pack, capable of travelling 326.4km on a single charge, as per NEDC. The EC Van is a small panel van featuring a two-seat cabin and offering 2.6 m3 of cargo volume. It has a 30 kW/110 Nm, rear-mounted motor powered by an 18.3 kWh battery pack, which delivers an NEDC range of 175km.

The Minio Green (VN) is a four-seat microcar with a 30 kW/65 Nm, rear-mounted motor and an 18.3 kWh battery pack that delivers 210 kilometres of NEDC range. The Herio Green (VN) is an adaptation of the VF 5 Plus with the same powertrain, battery pack, and range. The Limo Green is a seven-seat mid-size MPV with a 150 kW/280 Nm motor and a 60.13 kWh battery pack. It can travel up to 450km on a single charge, as per NEDC.

Commenting on the new initiative at the signing ceremony, Huy Long Director Dinh Thi Thu Thuy said: “Investing in a large-scale electric vehicle fleet will not only help improve operational efficiency but also create a foundation for the business to adapt to the inevitable development trend of the transportation industry.”

“Green SM aims to become a platform that promotes this transformation by connecting technology, electric vehicles, and the operating ecosystem, thereby supporting partners to expand their operations more effectively in the long term,” said GSM Global Deputy General Director Tran Le Phuong.
