The new sites are being installed in Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain. In Denmark, PowerGo won a tender from the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) which will see it install 10 charging points across three highways. Each charger will have up to 480kW of power. Two charging points are set to be built on Rute 21 near Torkilstrup on Sjælland – roughly halfway between Roskilde and Holbæk. An additional four charging points will be installed in northern Denmark on the E45 near Aalborg, while four other charging points are earmarked for the south of Jutland, close to the German border. They will join two other PowerGo highway locations on Funen and in Haderup.

For Belgium, PowerGo is set to build a charging hub along the E40 in Ghent as part of the urban development project the Loop. The hub will contain six charging points which a maximum capacity of 400kW. Then, in Spain, PowerGo will install 24 charging points across six highway locations on behalf of SEITT, the Spanish state-owned transport infrastructure company. Again, each charger will have a max capacity of 400kW and will be located on three highways around Madrid, namely the R2, R3 and R5. Finally,in the Netherlands, PowerGo will build a charging hub in North Holland by the event venue Gasterij Vuurland. This is located near a key traffic junction in the Netherlands, the A9 highway. PowerGo states it plans to upgrade this hub with higher-capacity grid connections in years to come so it can add more charging points for both cars and electric trucks.

Ivo van Dam, CEO of PowerGo, said: “With the expansion of our ultra-fast charging network along European highways, we are taking another important step towards making electric driving even more accessible for everyone. And we are far from done: more new locations will follow soon. Our focus remains on providing the EV driver with a fast, reliable, and sustainable charging experience, wherever they need it.”
