Kia launches PV5 Passenger in European markets
The all-electric five-seater is also the brand’s first passenger vehicle based on the dedicated E-GMP.S architecture—an evolution of Kia’s E-GMP platform designed for scalable electrified solutions. With prices starting from €38,290, the PV5 Passenger is now available to order in Germany, with deliveries set to commence in November 2025. The Cargo variant can be ordered in Germany since late May and comes with a price tag of around 33,000 euros.
The order books for the PV5 Passenger in the UK and France, for example, have already been open for a few weeks. In France, the new electric vehicle starts at 39,550 euros, with first deliveries scheduled for October 2025 – so earlier than in Germany. Prices for the EV with the larger battery start at 43,550 euros.
In the UK, the PV5 Passenger variant (as well as the Cargo variant) can be pre-ordered since the beginning of May. However, it seems that the PV5 Passenger cannot be configured there yet. Nevertheless, Kia has already communicated the price, which starts at £32,995 for the PV5 Passenger variant. The PV5 Cargo variant can also already be ordered there from just below £28,000. In both cases, deliveries are said to start in Q4/2025.
The specs are the same across borders. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 51.5 kWh pack offering up to 288 km of WLTP range, or a 71.2 kWh version that stretches to 400 km. Rapid charging from 10 to 80 per cent is possible in just 30 minutes under optimal conditions.
At 4.70 metres long and equipped with a flat-floor design, the PV5 offers generous interior space, low entry sills, and electric sliding doors on both sides. Depending on the configuration, the boot volume expands to 2,300 litres, with a towing capacity of up to 1.5 tonnes—figures rarely seen in this segment of electric vehicles.
The PV5 is available in three trim levels—Essential, Plus and Elite. Even the base model includes LED headlamps, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen powered by Android Automotive OS, adaptive cruise control, and seven airbags. Higher trims add V2L capability, 360-degree cameras, heated and ventilated seats, and even a digital key that turns a smartphone or smartwatch into a car key.
All PV5 models benefit from OTA (over-the-air) updates, full smartphone integration, and Kia’s connected services. The system also supports the installation of user-specific apps via Kia’s dedicated app store. A new hardware base prepares the vehicle for future V2X functions, including vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) capabilities.
