Future Flight signs agreement for 54 Eve Air eVTOLs
Future Flight Global (FFG) is primarily focused on urban air transportation, particularly air taxis, while Eve Air Mobility (owned by Brazilian aircraft firm Embraer) designs and builds eVTOLs. FFG has said the LOI is therefore part of its effort to build “a diversified electric aircraft fleet for global deployment”. No financial details have been shared regarding the order volume, only that the eVTOLs would be used in Brazil and the US and aim to “dramatically reduce travel times and ease congestion in major cities”, pointing to their potential use as air taxis.
Karan Singh, CEO of FFG, said: “Eve’s aircraft – rooted in Embraer’s 55-year legacy of designing, certifying, and supporting commercial and business aircraft – checks every box: strong performance parameters, passenger-first ergonomics, clear certification pathway, and scalable production system. We look forward to ANAC certification and deploying these aircraft in Brazil and additional high-demand markets worldwide in the near future.”
Eve Air already has some business activity in Brazil, which is unsurprising given its location. It previously signed a letter of intent with Voar Aviation for 70 eVTOLs in 2023, which plans to ramp up use of eVTOLs in Brazil’s main metropolitan areas including Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Florianopolis, Vitoria and others. This came shortly after they announced the creation of its first production facility in Sao Paulo.
In 2023, Eve Air also revealed its partnership with United Airlines to identify opportunities for eVTOLs in the Bay Area around San Francisco. The airline invested $15 million into Eve Air in 2022 and signed a purchase agreement for 200 air taxis.
