First Belgian customers for eActros 600

Daimler Truck has delivered its first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600s to customers in Belgium for the first time. Logistics company VM-Milktrans and sister firm Sovedo Logistics have ordered a total of six eActros 600s.

Last week, they received the first two electric trucks from the order, which will be deployed in long-haul milk collection logistics across Belgium. It’s the first time a commercial customer has used the eActros 600 in Belgium. The agreement also covers charging infrastructure, financing, batteries and leasing.

The opening of the charging infrastructure itself has coincided with the delivery of the electric trucks. The two companies have installed two in-house charging stations and battery storage systems powered ‘largely’ by solar modules. It means a total of four trucks can be charged simultaneously. The companies state that they will use the legally prescribed driver break for charging, enabling their fleet to cover over 1000km per day.

The trucks were financed using eService Leasing, Daimler Truck AG’s financial service provider which the company states allows customers to obtain trucks, batteries, and charging infrastructure under a single invoice. The vehicle selection and delivery was handled by Daimler Truck BeLux and dealership Van Mossel-Vereenooghe, while the companies Thoré and Lanoye Technics handled the charging and energy infrastructure.

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Truck expanded its eActros 600 lineup by adding a number of new variants to its range, including tractor and flatbed units, variable battery pack configuration, and more cab and roof variants. All versions of the eActros 600 are based on the same platform with LFP batteries, 800-volt architecture, an updated e-axle and more. It’s not clear exactly which variant of the eActros 600 will be used by the Belgian companies.
