Oregon researchers work with Daimler on H2 fuel cell trucks
In the USA, researchers at Oregon State University are working with Daimler Truck North America to develop a hydrogen fuel cell-powered heavy-duty truck for regional and long-distance transport. Developed as part of Daimler’s “SuperTruck” project, the tractor is expected to provide ranges of 600 miles (965 kilometres).

Daimler Truck completes large electric bus order in Germany
Mercedes-Benz has delivered all 45 electric buses on order with the public transit company VLP in the northeast of Germany. Verkehrsgesellschaft Ludwigslust-Parchim (VLP) has now taken delivery of the last 15 vehicles of a significant order placed in 2019.

Tevex Logistics orders 50 Mercedes eActros LongHaul
Tevex Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of the German butcher Tönnies Group, wants to use the battery-electric eActros LongHaul long-distance truck for food deliveries in the future. To this end, the company has now signed a letter of intent with Mercedes-Benz Trucks for the order of 50 units.

European consortium looks into BEV coaches
From the end of this decade, Daimler Buses wants to offer fully electrically powered coaches with its Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands. Fraunhofer study: Hydrogen will not play a major role in road transport
The Traton Group sees an analysis by the Fraunhofer Institute as confirming its strategy with its focus on battery-electric drives. According to the study, electric drives will also dominate the heavy-duty sector, and fuel cells will remain a niche application.
