Energie 360°’s Swiss mobility group is strengthening its position as the lead CPO in the charging infrastructure market. With the acquisition of Move Mobility from Primeo Energie, Groupe E, and EWB, the group’s total number of charging points has increased by 4,700 to a total of over 24,000.

The number of charging network users has risen by 50,000 to over 250,000. Energie 360° is fully integrating Move Mobility and its employees into its mobility group while retaining the independent brand identity of the Group’s other brands (Energie 360°, Gofast, Swisscharge). Additionally, Energie 360° writes that it will no longer charge roaming fees for charging points within the mobility group from November of this year, as well as offering improved services for fleet and corporate customers.

The company is also acquiring licences from the Swiss Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) to build and operate charging hubs at around 40 motorway service areas.

Reto Baschera, Head of the Energie 360° mobility group, said: “We are delighted to be able to decisively and rapidly advance e-mobility throughout Switzerland with the Energie 360°, Gofast, Swisscharge and Move Mobility brands as the number 1 for charging infrastructure.”

“With the integration of Move Mobility, we are keeping value creation in the country, expanding our expertise and strengthening Switzerland as a location in all regions of the country,” added Jörg Wild, CEO of Energie 360°.

Daniel Neuhaus, CEO of Move Mobility, stated his company’s stake in the venture: “With Energie 360°, we are gaining a strong owner that ideally complements our regional roots in French-speaking Switzerland. Together, we will offer a unique electric mobility experience throughout Switzerland, utilise synergies and further develop our services for customers in a targeted manner.”

Energie 360° further wrote in its communication that it now has the densest network of public and privately operated charging points in all parts of Switzerland as a result of the merger. But this will not be the end of the company’s expansion plans: “Property investors, companies and fleet operators will benefit even more from a complete service in future – from planning to operating the charging infrastructure. The company is investing around CHF 200 million in the further expansion of its charging offer by 2030 alone,” the CPO wrote.

Last year, we reported on Energie 360° installing charging stations for the grocery store chain Coop in Switzerland. As early as 2018, the company had made headlines with the installation of the first two Type 2 DC fast-charging connectors in the country, aiming to offer an alternative for Tesla drivers in Europe.
