Polestar boosts EV sales by 38% in Q2

In the first half of 2025, Polestar even increased its sales by 51 per cent to over 30,000 vehicles. The second quarter is positively influenced by new markets and sales via the Volvo dealer network. The increase in registrations was mainly driven by the Polestar 3 and 4.

Polestar significantly increased its sales figures in the second quarter of 2025. The Geely subsidiary sold 18,049 cars, which corresponds to a growth margin of 38 per cent compared to the second quarter of 2024. A comparison of the sales figures for the entire first half of the year with those for the same period last year shows an increase of 51 per cent.

From the beginning of January to the end of June this year, the Swedish-Chinese manufacturer sold a total of 30,319 cars. In addition to the growing model range, one reason for the positive development is that new markets have been added for Polestar. For example, the brand’s models have also been available in France since June. Furthermore, since February, they have been sold not only online, but also via the Volvo dealer network. The brand also recently launched the Polestar4 in the USA.

“We’ve delivered another strong quarter of growth in increasingly challenging market and geopolitical conditions. Volume growth of 38% in the second quarter and 51% in the first half of the year is a clear sign that our retail expansion is delivering and that more customers are choosing Polestar,” said Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller.

Sales are being driven primarily by the two SUV models, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, which were launched on European markets last year. Both series sell almost twice as many units in Germany as the mid-range Polestar 2 model, which has already been on the market for five years.
