Hyundai reveals Ioniq 9 UK pricing and specs
After the Ioniq 5 and 6, the Ioniq 9 is Hyundai’s third volume model based on the company’s E-GMP architecture. The automaker emphasises that the electric SUV features its 800V fast charging architecture. According to the spec sheet, it can charge with a maximum of 233 kW, meaning the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes.
The full-size electric SUV houses a 110.3 kWh battery. These figures are slightly higher than those of its counterpart, the Kia EV9 (99.8 kWh battery / 150 kW motor), which is also based on the E-GMP.
It is offered in three trims – Premium, Ultimate, and Calligraphy. All offer seven seats, while the latter variant is also available as a 6-seater. And while all trims are fitted with the same battery, power output varies. The rear electric motor in the Premium variant delivers 160 kW, while the front and rear motors of the Ultimate and Calligraphy models offer a combined 230 kW of power. The six-seater even goes up to 320 kW.
Prices start from £64,995 for the Premium 160 kW RWD, featuring 19” alloys, roof rails, LED cube projection headlights, heated and ventilated front seats with 8-way adjustment, heated rear seats, three zone climate control, panoramic dual 12.3” displays with Bluelink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a suite of USB-C charging options including two 100W high output ports.

The Ultimate trim, from £73,495, adds 20” alloys, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, ventilated second row seats, power folding third row, a BOSE premium sound system with 14 speakers and subwoofer, Ergo Motion driver’s seat with massage functions, and Active Noise Control-Road (ANC-R) technology to reduce cabin noise via inverted soundwaves.
At the top of the range is the Calligraphy model, priced from £75,795 for the 230 kW AWD version, with 21” wheels, full body coloured arches, unique bumper graphics, Nappa leather, and a UVC Sterilisation Tray. A six-seat Calligraphy with a sliding centre console offers flexible first-class seating and the ability to rotate the second row when parked to create a lounge-like environment. Digital Side Mirrors and a 427PS AWD Performance variant are also available.
All powertrains include a standard heat pump, manually selectable battery conditioning, and Vehicle 2 Load capability with an internal 3-pin plug. Performance figures range from 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds for the Long Range RWD, 6.7 seconds for Long Range AWD, and 5.2 seconds for the Performance AWD, with torque outputs of up to 700Nm.
