Onvo officially launches flagship L90 SUV in China
Onvo has officially launched its flagship model, the L90, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The L90 is positioned as a smart, large-space battery-electric SUV designed for family use. The model is available as both a six- and a seven-seater , with prices starting from RMB 265,800 (€32,300), or RMB 179,800 (€21,900) when paired with Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme. Deliveries of the six-seater variant kick off today, with the seven-seater version following in late September.
Prices range up to RMB 299,800 (€36,400), depending on seat layout and trim level. A launch package valued at over RMB 30,000 (€3,600) is offered to customers placing orders before 1 September 2025.

The EV was presented in July, when Onvo opened pre-orders in China. Built on a 900V BEV platform, the L90 measures 5,15 m in length with a 3,11 m wheelbase, and boasts a drag coefficient of 0.25. The battery has an energy content of 85 kWh and is offered with either a 340 kW rear-wheel drive or a two-motor all-wheel drive version with a 100 kW motor on the front axle. That allows the EV to go as far as 605 km between charges, based on the Chinese testing cycle CLTC.
Onvo states the L90 has passed 62 crash tests, including China’s first front-and-rear truck collision test in rainy conditions. All variants include nine airbags as standard, such as a 137-litre passenger airbag and 2,92 m curtain airbags. And Onvo states that the vehicle-battery separation design supports ” round-the-clock battery health monitoring” via Nio’s cloud-based Power Swap Station network.
Update 14 August 2025
Nio is offering a second battery option with a capacity of 60 kWh for the Onvo L90, which was launched on the Chinese market at the beginning of August. However, this option is only available if the battery is rented. Anyone purchasing the electric SUV, including the battery only has the 85 kWh option at the prices mentioned above.
The vehicle price with the Battery-as-a-Service offer also remains the same and can be found in the table above. What becomes cheaper with the 60 kWh battery is the battery rental: this costs 599 yuan per month, which is just over 71 euros at the current exchange rate. That is 300 yuan per month less than the 899 yuan (around 107.50 euros) that was previously charged for the 85 kWh battery.
Those who initially opted for the small battery can also upgrade to the large battery for an additional daily, monthly or annual fee. It should also be possible to downgrade from the 85 kWh battery – but only if the battery is rented.
