Macquarie raises over $400 million for Vertelo
Macquarie Asset Management, one of the world’s largest infrastructure asset managers, has raised $405 million US dollars for Vertelo, a fleet electrification solutions platform in India. The funding includes $205 million from institutional investors, as well as $200 million in concessional capital from the Green Climate Fund, the anchor investor. Other investors include Macquarie Green Energy Transition Solutions Fund, Allianz Global Investors, and Australian Ethical, amongst others.
“The initiative will provide financing solutions that accelerate India’s development of critical infrastructure and an overall ecosystem in which electric vehicle use grows sustainably,” said Henry Gonzalez, chief investment officer at the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
Vertelo was launched by Macquarie Asset Management Green Investment in April 2024 and aims to accelerate fleet transitions and build an EV ecosystem in India. The company’s platform offers leasing and financing for charging infrastructure, energy management and fleet management, as well as end-of-life asset management services. The company has a declared goal of mobilising $1.5 billion over a ten-year period.
