Nuro raises $200m – including from Uber and Nvidia

Nuro, a US company specialising in autonomous electric vehicles, has recently completed a Series E financing round worth $203 million. Investors include Nvidia and Uber - the latter of whom Nuro recently launched a premium robotaxi programme with.

Nuro states that the Series E financing round is divided into two tranches, after the US company secured $106 million in April 2025, and has now added an additional $97 million. Together, this amounts to the aforementioned $203 million in fresh capital. In addition to Uber, participants include returning investor Baillie Gifford and new investors Icehouse Ventures, Kindred Ventures, Nvidia, and Pledge Ventures.

Nuro states in its announcement that the company’s value now stands at $6 billion thanks to the recently completed financing round. The new capital will enable the scaling of its own AI-based autonomous technology and the expansion of its partner network. Nuro’s core technology is a Level 4 autonomy system called Nuro Driver.

“The closing of our Series E reinforces the strong conviction our investors and strategic partners have in Nuro’s technology, our scalable approach to commercialization, and our vision for the future of autonomy,” said Dave Ferguson, co-founder and president of Nuro. “With this new capital, we’re well-positioned to continue our next phase of growth, which will see us focus on delivering new commercial partnerships to realize autonomy at global scale.”

US chip manufacturer Nvidia is particularly noteworthy as a new investor. Until now, the two companies have primarily been technical partners. The background to this is that Nuro now relies on components from the Nvidia platform (“NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor platform”). In July, Nuro also announced a partnership with Lucid and Uber to launch a next-generation robotaxi service. The goal of the partnership is to provide at least 20,000 Lucid vehicles with integrated “Nuro Driver” in dozens of markets worldwide, starting in 2026 in an unnamed US city. As part of this partnership, Uber had committed to an investment in Nuro that was tied to the achievement of certain milestones. Part of this investment has now been made as part of this financing round.

Nuro also states that it has raised over US$2.3 billion since its founding in 2016. According to the company, it licenses the “Nuro Driver” for a wide range of applications – from robot taxis and commercial fleets to private vehicles.
