Can-Am launches all-electric Outlander ATV for 2026

The Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) brand Can-Am has introduced the 2026 Outlander Electric. The ATV is designed for off-road use by farmers, ranchers and outdoor enthusiasts, combining performance, durability and low-noise operation.

The Outlander Electric is powered by BRP’s in-house modular Rotax E-Power system, shared with the company’s electric motorcycles and snowmobiles. It produces 47 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque, with a maximum range of 80 km under optimal conditions. The vehicle offers three ride modes – Normal, Sport and Work – and can charge from 20 to 80 per cent in 50 minutes using a Level 2 charger.

Noise reduction is achieved through a low-noise cooling system, optimised suspension and XPS Recon Force tyres. The model supports a towing capacity of 830 kg and can be equipped with more than 120 accessories.

Can-Am was a motorbike production division of BRP between 1971 and 1987. Since 2006, however, the Canadian company has been producing off-road vehicles such as ATVs and three-wheeled road vehicles. The Outlander Electric joins BRP’s existing electric portfolio, which includes the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin motorcycles.

Development centres in Valcourt, Canada and Gunskirchen, Austria, and assembly sites in Mexico and Finland, enable BRP to integrate battery, motor, inverter, charger and control software across its electric platforms. The company says this modular approach allows consistent performance and scalable production.

“At BRP, our approach to electrification is intentional and strategic – we electrify where it makes business sense and adds real value to customers,” said José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP. “The Outlander Electric is a powerful, quiet, and capable ATV that reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

“With the Outlander Electric, we’re not just launching a new ATV, we’re introducing a new way to experience the outdoors and get the job done,” added Julie Tourville, Director of Global Marketing, Can-Am Off-Road at BRP.
