Kia confirms EV5 prices in the UK and South Korea
Kia has revealed the UK price structure for the EV5, a fully electric family SUV entering the highly competitive C-SUV segment. The EV5 launches with a three-trim line-up familiar from the EV3, EV4, EV6 and EV9. The entry-level ‘Air’ starts at £39,295, the mid-range ‘GT-Line’ is priced from £42,595, and the flagship ‘GT-Line S’ is listed at £47,095. Customer deliveries will commence later in 2025.
The EV5 ‘Air’ represents the starting point of the line-up, featuring a comprehensive specification as standard. Kia offers four premium colours available for an additional £675. Positioned above this, the EV5 ‘GT-Line’ adds sportier exterior details, larger wheels and enhanced interior equipment. Pricing begins at £42,595, with the same £675 charge applied for premium paint options. At the top of the range, the EV5 ‘GT-Line S’ includes additional comfort, driver assistance and connectivity features, with the option of a heat pump available for an extra £900.
The EV5 is equipped with a 160 kW front electric motor. Each variant is equipped with the same 81.4kWh battery, supporting a WLTP range of up to 329 miles or 530 kilometres. Kia did previously announce a second, 60.3 kWh battery option. However, it is apparently not offered in the UK at this point. You can read more about the technical details and specifications in this previous article.
Pricing has also been confirmed for South Korea, where the EV5 will be offered in three trims: Air, Earth and GT-Line. After applying the country’s 3.5 per cent opening tax benefit, the EV5 Air is priced at 48.55 million South Korean Won (about €30,000), the Earth at ₩52.3 million (about €32,000), and the GT-Line at ₩53.4 million (about €32,800).
Kia presented the EV5 in October 2023 and initially launched it on the market in China. It is also exported to Thailand and Australia. The UK is the first European market where EV5 prices have been officially announced. Kia has indicated that further European markets will follow soon.
