Nio standardises 100‑kWh battery across full Chinese lineup
Starting prices for Nio models with the 100‑kWh battery are unchanged from the prior 75‑kWh standard-pack pricing but reflect an actual reduction of up to 38,000 yuan. The ET5 and ET5 Touring now start at 298,000 yuan, down from 336,000 yuan, while the ES6, EC6, ET7 and EC7 see reductions of between 7.7 % and 10.1 %.
All Nio models equipped with the 100‑kWh battery now achieve a CLTC range of around 700 km, with the ET5 sedan reaching up to 740 km. The 75‑kWh battery pack remains available. Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, the smaller pack costs 728 yuan per month, while the 100‑kWh battery costs 1,128 yuan per month. With the subscription, Nio drivers can use the manufacturer’s battery swapping stations.
According to Chinese media reports, the reason for this change is that many Nio drivers have complained online about poor battery performance. The carmaker now wants to show – you get more for your money. That also applies to other Nio brands.
Just a few weeks ago, Nio announced a significant price reduction of 20,000 yuan, equivalent to around 2,400 euros, for vehicles with the long-range battery. In addition, Nio’s sub-brand Onvo has now integrated its 85 kWh long-range battery as standard in its L90 SUV model, while the first Onvo model, the L60, still has a 60 kWh battery as standard.
However, at this time, this move only affects the Chinese market. The smaller battery is still available in Germany, for instance. Under the BaaS subscription, but also for sale.
