Honda unveils first full-size electric motorcycle for Europe
The WN7 is Honda’s first fixed-battery electric naked motorcycle designed for the Fun segment. The production model offers a range of more than 130 kilometres and features a lithium-ion battery. While Honda does not specify a charging capacity, it states that the motorcycle can fast-charge using CCS. Recharging the battery from 20 to 80 per cent takes “less than 30 minutes.” The bike is also capable of AC charging. Filling up an empty battery takes up to three hours.
The motorcycle will be offered in two power variants: 18 kWh for A2 licence holders and 11 kWh for A1 licence holders. Maximum output is listed at 50 kW for the higher-spec model, with peak torque of 100 Nm. The WN7 achieves a top speed of more than 110 kph.
According to the manufacturer, the slim, futuristic design highlights the motorcycle’s EV character, while performance is positioned to rival 600cc internal combustion motorcycles in output and 1000cc models in torque.
The name is derived from “W” for the development concept “Be the Wind”, “N” for Naked, and “7” indicating the output class. “The WN7 embodies over 75 years of Honda’s motorcycle expertise. It delivers a quiet and smooth ride distinct from ICE models while offering the thrill of the open road,” Honda stated.
Key features include a 5-inch TFT display with connectivity to the Honda RoadSync smartphone app, LED lighting with daytime running lights, and a kerb weight of 217 kg. According to Honda, the model has been designed to balance range, performance and everyday usability.
Honda announced the new model as part of its strategy to achieve carbon neutrality across all products and corporate activities by 2050, with the aim of making its entire motorcycle line-up carbon-neutral by the 2040s. “Honda is positioning motorcycle electrification as a core pillar of its future environmental strategy,” the company said.
“Our first full-size electric motorcycle will launch on 4th November 2025,” Honda confirmed. “With an electric range of more than 80 miles and a quick-charge time of less than 30 minutes (20%-80%), the Honda WN7 is not only the future of motorcycling, it is the embodiment of pure enjoyment.”
