Zeekr opens first Zeekr Power charging station in Thailand
Zeekr has installed its first Zeekr Power charging station in the underground parking area of CentralWorld, one of Thailand’s largest shopping complexes, located in downtown Bangkok. The company developed the site in partnership with local EV charging solutions provider Evolt.
The first outlet features an ultra-fast DC charger with two 400 kW connectors, making this site one of the most powerful charging stations in Thailand. This charger mainly benefits customers of the 7X, the Thai-spec version of which can charge from 10% to 80% SoC in as little as 16 minutes.
It also offers two 22 kW AC chargers for those who are not in a hurry and prefer a more economical solution to maximise value. Zeekr customers can access these chargers through Evolt’s smartphone app and enjoy complimentary charging until 31 December.
“The launch of the ZEEKR Power @CentralWorld charging station at CentralWorld reinforces our vision of being a leader in the development of innovative EVs, offering comfortable driving and advanced safety,” said Alex Pao, the Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia. “This aligns with the promotion of clean energy, fulfilling customers’ lifestyles with a comprehensive clean energy ecosystem within the electric vehicle ecosystem,” he added.
Following the CentralWorld outlet, Zeekr will open Zeekr Power charging stations in partnership with Evolt in four more locations in Bangkok and one site in Chonburi. The company plans to install three 7 kW AC chargers and one 22 kW AC charger at Samyan Market, four 22 kW AC chargers at True Digital Park, and three 22 kW AC chargers at BNN Park Ratchapruek. While it has confirmed One Bangkok as the fifth location in Bangkok, it has yet to reveal details of that site. In Chonburi, it will deploy four 150 kW DC chargers at the Harudot Cafe.
For the further expansion of the Zeekr Power network in Thailand, Zeekr has entered into a collaboration with Sharge+. It plans to open two charging stations in the Velaa Sindhorn Village and K Village Sukhumvit 26 shopping malls in Bangkok under this partnership. The company has not revealed the specifics of these locations or shared the timeline for their opening.
Apart from the recently launched 7X, Zeekr offers two models in Thailand: the X and the 009. The company began sales in August last year and has delivered over 3,000 EVs to date. It also plans to introduce Zeekr Power in Australia, although it has yet to disclose a timeline for that expansion.
