Flexis announces fleet charging partnership with Ampeco

Flexis, the electric OEM joint venture of Renault, Volvo and CMA CGM, has partnered with charging management platform provider Ampeco to offer integrated charging solutions for commercial fleet operators in Europe.

The partnership will focus specifically on depot charging for last-mile delivery logistics, in conjunction with the launch of Flexis’ first electric vans in 2026. These vans will hit the market alongside a software ecosystem called Flexis Interface, which is comprised of vehicle telematics, fleet management tools, and charging oversight.

As part of the partnership agreement, Ampeco’s backend platform will be integrated into this system, giving operators real-time visibility over charging sessions at depots – including both AC overnight charging and DC fast charging. Flexis has said that Ampeco’s charger-agnostic platform and API-driven architecture allows charging data to be merged with vehicle telematics, enabling fleet managers to track and manage state of charge, energy consumption, and charging status across sites all through a unified dashboard.

This integration will help Flexis tackle charging of vehicles to ensure they are ready for daily delivery routes; something it identifies as one of the biggest pain points remaining for operators looking to shift to electric vans, particularly when large fleets or multiple depots are involved. Ampeco’s platform will thus provide predictive monitoring, alerts, and troubleshooting to reduce downtime and avoid missed deliveries.

Magali Boisjot, Flexis’ Charging Solutions Leader, said: “AT Flexis, we’re building a platform where Ampeco plays a strategic role in delivering visibility and insight into charge point operations. By combining telematics and charging functionality, we provide full control and oversight of customer operations through our dashboard and operations centre.”

Glenn L’Heveder, VP Business Development Europe at Ampeco, added: “Our platform’s flexibility unlocks the capabilities Flexis needs to deliver dependable EV charging at scale. We handle the complexity of charging operations and deliver the uptime their customers depend on, while Flexis maintains complete control of the customer experience.”

Flexis is set to launch across multiple European countries next year, and claims to have already signed 30 letters of intent with a number of logistics companies including Colis Privé, GLS France, DB Schenker, and Buskow Logistics. Flexis has said that its partnership with Ampeco will enable it to “deliver charging reliability that protects daily operations, operational intelligence that optimises the total cost of ownership, and a scalable foundation for future capabilities.”

Founded in 2024, Flexis is developing new electric vans with a range of up to 450km. The three E-Tech Electric vans will be marketed as Estafette, Goelette, and Trafic. The Goelette is a cargo van available in three sizes: chassis cab, box, and tipper, all of which are built for conversions. Meanwhile, the 2.6m Estafette comes with a 1.9m internal height clearance with a connected cockpit and cargo area. Finally, the Trafic will likely replace the electric version of the popular Renault Trafic, with corner-positioned wheels in order to optimize cargo space. Each of the vans has a low loading floor for ease of access and are based on Flexis’ 800V skateboard platform. The vans have a promised WLTP range of up to 450km and their batteries can reportedly be charged to 80-percent in less than 20 minutes.

The underlying E/E architecture for the vans is being provided by Renault subsidiary Ampere, with Flexis relying on networks within Renault and Volvo Group for servicing. Flexis plans to sell its vehicles to logistics providers and fleet managers, as well as supplying them to Renault Group and Renault Trucks under their brands.
