Two MAN eTGX electric trucks for Sanpellegrino Logistics

MAN has delivered two more units of its electric truck, the eTGX, to Italy. They were handed over to the transport company Koinè, which plans to use the electric trucks in the logistics operations of beverage manufacturer Sanpellegrino. Over the next few years, the logistics provider intends to acquire up to 50 eTGX units from MAN.

Koiné is based between Bergamo and Milan in Italy. The company currently operates nearly 1,000 vehicles, making it one of Europe’s largest logistics providers. The acquisition of the first two eTGX units is intended to mark the beginning of a significantly larger electric share in Koiné’s fleet.

To support this transition, the company is investing in a solar power system at its new logistics centre in Levate, with a generating capacity of up to five megawatts. This system will produce a substantial amount of electricity to power the large battery systems of its electric trucks. “Our ambition: to electrify up to one-third of our fleet within the next three years. For us, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a daily commitment. With MAN eTGX, we can guarantee our customers, such as the Sanpellegrino Group, safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible transport,” explains Paolo Toccafondi, Managing Director of Koiné.

Koiné plans to acquire up to 50 electric trucks from MAN in the coming years, specifically the long-haul model eTGX, which has been delivered to customers since October 2024. In October 2025, the first delivery to a customer in Italy followed, specifically to the logistics provider Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti.

“Every MAN eTGX delivered is a step toward the future of transport. Our mission is to provide vehicles that combine cutting-edge technology with environmental responsibility, supporting our customers in their energy transition,” says Michael Kobriger, Member of the Board for Production & Logistics at MAN.

The first two eTGX trucks from Koiné will operate routes between the production sites of the legendary water brand Sanpellegrino and the logistics depots in Madone and Levate. This will cover around 250,000 kilometres per year. The routes are designed to align optimally with the charging times and ranges of the two electric trucks. Svante Palebo, Global Head of Supply Chain at Sanpellegrino’s parent company Nestlé Waters, stated: “Electrifying transport is one of the key levers of our decarbonization strategy. Thanks to initiatives like this, we continue to make our supply chain more efficient, responsible, and ready for future challenges.”
