TPS electrifies UK parts delivery fleet
Over the last year, TPS has more than doubled the number of EVs in its 680-strong fleet during the past year. The business operates 83 TPS centres across the UK, each of which supply Volkswagen Group parts for independent garages and bodyshops across the UK – primarily for use in passenger cars including Audi, SEAT, CUPRA, Skoda and VW Commercial Vehicles.
A total of 88 EVs are now being used to deliver parts from these centres, including CUPRA Born, ID. Buzz Cargo, and VW eTransporter models. VW UK says this follows ‘successful pilots with a number of CUPRA Born and Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo models’, and lays the groundwork for further fleet electrification in 2026 as current vehicles come up for renewal.
Catherine Baker, One Aftersales Director for VW Group UK, said: “The addition of the new EVs is a major boost to our strategy to electrify the TPS delivery fleet. Plans to accelerate our EV journey help to pave the way for our business to cut significantly its UK carbon footprint, driving the transformation of our delivery service that will benefit both the planet and our customers.”
TPS’ plan to begin delivering parts using Volkswagen EVs dates back to 2023, when it ordered a number of Cupra Born cars to its sites in the UK and the north of Ireland.
