CATL opens large aftermarket centre in Saudi Arabia
CATL has operated its service business under the name Ning since 2015. In 2024, Ning became an independent brand, and the first flagship store, named Ning Space, was opened in Chengdu. This was followed by additional locations, such as Shanghai and Bangkok.
The company has now established a flagship store in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to support the country’s ambition of achieving a 30% share of electric vehicles in the capital by 2030 and to promote further initiatives, such as the introduction of electric forklifts.
The newly opened service centre spans over 7,000 square metres and features various exhibition areas, diagnostic and maintenance zones, refurbishment facilities, training rooms, and a customer lounge, providing comprehensive after-sales support. Local technical specialists are also trained on-site. The centre aims to drive the adoption of advanced electrification and energy storage solutions.
Services offered include lifecycle customer support, battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, training, recycling, aftermarket logistics, and warehousing. The service centre covers seven key product categories, ranging from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems, and can handle a variety of repair scenarios.
Bruce Li, Head of Quality Management and Aftermarket Business for Battery Management Systems at CATL, stated that the centre in Riyadh reflects a strategic, long-term vision for the region: “Our decision to establish this center in Riyadh is not only a commercial choice, but a long-term commitment,” said Li. “As the first NING SERVICE Experience Center in the Middle East, it is more than a service facility. It is a new energy aftermarket ecosystem hub that brings together advanced technology, professional training, and industry collaboration—effectively connecting diverse stakeholders and resources to foster deeper synergy and sustainable growth across the region.”
From Riyadh, CATL will expand its customer service network across the Middle East, aligning closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and supporting the region’s energy transition through a reliable and comprehensive service system.
