Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging has officially launched its charging network in Canada with the opening of three locations in Abbotsford, Pitt Meadows and Tsawwassen. The sites mark the start of a broader rollout of eight high-power charging hubs across the Metro Vancouver region, all scheduled to open over the coming months. Each hub is equipped with Alpitronic HYC 400 DC fast chargers delivering up to 400 kW.

Mercedes-Benz states that the infrastructure is optimised for 800-volt vehicle architectures, supporting next-generation EVs such as the electric GLC and the upcoming electric CLA. Plug and Charge functionality will also be available for supported vehicles, enabling automatic authentication and billing when the vehicle is connected. Every stall features a four-cable system supporting both Combined Charging System 1 (CCS-1) and the North American Charging Standard (NACS). This allows any EV to charge at any stall without the need for adapters.

The eight Canadian charging hubs are being deployed at retail and destination locations across British Columbia, including sites in Coquitlam, Nanaimo, Penticton, Squamish and Surrey. Four of the locations are being developed in partnership with BGO Properties.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mercedes-Benz to introduce high-speed EV charging to our properties,” said Michelle Brown, Head of BGO Properties.
The chargers are supplied by Alpitronic. “Partnering with Mercedes-Benz to bring Alpitronic’s first charging stations to Canada is a significant milestone for us,” said Mike Doucleff, President of Alpitronic Americas.

Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging already operates more than 650 charging stalls across the United States. The Canadian launch extends the network to British Columbia, aiming to support EV adoption with publicly accessible, high-power charging infrastructure.
